Locations
The picture to the left annotates a few popular areas of where Lions Mane Jellyfish are found. They are found more in the northern part of the oceans. Some other areas that are not pictured are around Japan, possible locations in the Baltic Sea are not pictured.
The Lions Mane Jellyfish is generally a pelagic species and is known to live in open water. In certain times of the year, winter through spring specifically, they will tend to come closer to shores where they are generally spotted by humans. In this time, their will also be a high volume of them that wash up on shore due to death.

A ColdWater Life
The Lions Mane is known to be living in cold water climates. During the summer, they will usually venture out into the open ocean and deeper to find the colder water which usually does not pertain to summer months near shore. The fall-early spring months we will see the Lions Mane appearing more and more near shore because of the colder water temperatures during these times. Because of this they are sometimes called the Winter's Jelly.
